Magnificent Greece, 6 days/5 nights
DAY 1, Wednesday: Athens – Arrival
Arrival in Athens and transfer to the hotel. Our staff will hand you your Linaki Envelope with your vouchers, the map of Athens and other necessary information.

DAY 2, Thursday: Athens – City Tour
Half Day City Tour of the city of Athens. This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. We shall make our first stop at the Panathenaic Stadium or Kalimarmaro which was built on the site of the old stadiumwhich hosted in 1896 the first Olympic Games of the modern era
Continue and pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament with the monumentof the Unknown Soldier and the traditional Changing of the Guard, in the Constitution or Syntagma Square,the Academy, the University, the National Library, then to Omonia Square, which is the heart of Athens. On the Acropolis you will experience the exciting moments of the Golden Age of Athens, the works of the time of Pericles, The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike Ionian, in memory of the victory over the Persians, theErection, and the Parthenon of Athens Symbol of Democracy.
We will have the opportunity to visit the new Acropolis Museum, a marvel of modern architecture, which is in full view of the Acropolis with the monuments, where the collections of the findings in the excavationsadjacent to it can be seen. You will have the afternoon off in order to continue exploring the impressive artistic past of the city, stroll in the lively Plaka neighbourhood or do some shopping of folk arts and crafts.

DAY 3, Friday: Athens – Delphi – Kalambaka.
Drive through Levadia and Arachova (famous for its bright multi colored carpets). Arrive in Delphi. At the foot of Mount Parnassos, within the angle formed by the twin rocks of the Phaedriades, lies the Pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi, which had the most famous oracle of ancient Greece. Delphi was regarded as the centre of the world. According to mythology, it is here that the two eagles sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world met. The sanctuary of Delphi, set within a most spectacular landscape, was for many centuries the cultural and religious centre and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world and seat of the Pythian Games, the second most important games in Greece after the Olympics, which were held every four years. Visit of the archaeological site (Museum not included).
Depart to Kalambaka through the towns of Central Greece Amphissa - Lamia & Trikala crossing the Thessalian Plain, the granary of Greece. Dinner & Overnight in Kalambaka.

DAY 4, Saturday: Kalambaka – Athens.
Breakfast. Today we will see one of the most amazing places in Greece, Meteora. Meaning 'suspended in air' the name Meteora soon came to encompass the entire rock community of 24 monasteries, the biggest and most important group of monasteries in Greece after those in Mount Athos. There were no steps and the main access to the monasteries was by means of a net that was hitched over a hook and hoisted up by rope and a hand cranked windlass to winch towers overhanging the chasm. Monks descended in the nets or on retractable wooden ladders up to 40m long to the fertile valleys below to grow grapes, corn and potatoes. Each community developed its own resources and by the end of the 14th century, the Grand Meteoron emerged as the dominant community. The rock monasteries have been characterized by UNESCO as a unique phenomenon of cultural heritage. Drive back to Athens passing through Thermopylae (Photo Stop) and Kammena Vourla.

DAY 5, Sunday: Athens – 1-day Cruise.
One day cruise to Aegina, Poros and Hydra with lunch. Transfer to the port of Piraeus at 07.30. At 08.15 the ship will depart from the port in order to begin the cruise to this three islands of the Saronic Gulf, making stops at each island of approximately one hour. Return to Piraeus at 19.15. Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 6, Monday: Athens - Departure
Transfer to the airport.
